a psycho is a short way to say a psychotic person - that is, a person who is suffering from psychosis.

usually, some person that is called such a word is showing signs of psychosis - perhaps by yelling loudly words that make no sense, such as psyco, psiko, psyko, psycko, etc...

generally, words that have the prefix "psych" have to do with the mind or the mental - and stems from a girl's name in greek mythology, psyche. unfortunately, at this time, i do not remember what this girl's story was
