Trying to sell a motorcycle in the states and got a hit from above email address and concerned

...Dont do it. My buddy got hit last nite trying to sell his Triumph. They just want to send you a check over the amount you are asking. and then want you to send them a check for the overage. It is scam. Most things like this that come from UK or Africa are bogus. ( like Nigeria and the like. )

this sounds very much like the car-selling-buying scam that's been going on for some time, and about which there have been numerous warnings on network TV. The buyer wants to pay you an amount over and above the price of the vehicle, and then you are to remit the overage back to them. It is a big scam, and is successful only when people don't stop to ask questions like you have.

a previous posting advised you against this, and I'm telling you the same. Don't do it! You have no way of knowing if the person who send the email is in England. They probably aren't.

i would also agree with the other two, it seems like a scam.
i wouldn't accept a check myself from anyone, or until it clears the bank i would hold the bike
