You shouldn't be embarrassed about this. You will have your period once a month for a long time ahead so get used to it. All your female friends and relatives get it too. It is a bit nasty but it is what happens so get over it. Congrats you are a woman!

Aw poor thing! Listen, don't worry about being embarrassed. Your brother probably doesn't care that much, in fact... later when you're telling your daughters about what happened when you first got your period it might even be funny!
I know when I get my period, I get really bad cramps, headaches, back aches, and nausea. If you get any of these things- take some Advil for the aches and some Pepto bismal or Dramamine for the nausea.
As for the "nastiness", there isn't much you can do with that one, your period is what it is... the lining of your uterus is shedding and with that comes blood, and little blood clot looking things which is all normal. Just stay clean, shower every day and change your pad every few hours and you'll be fine!
Congratulations!
and GOOD LUCK!!!

Wizard, what's there to be "grateful" approximately bloating, cramps, nausea, problems, concerns approximately leaking and marking your clothing, and having to each so often make determination plans like no longer likely into the water on the sea coast because you're afraid a shark could have the skill to sniff the blood and attack you? possibly in case you have been a woman, you would be greater valuable in a position to appreciate that that may no longer something to be pleased approximately. I surprisingly much envy the girls in the previous. That became because of the fact they very seldom had classes by means of continuously being pregnant or nursing. in addition they began having them later in existence than ladies do at present. i won't be in a position to attend until menopause comes. i wish it will be right here interior of many years. i'm now in my previous due 40s and countless females my age have already been by it.

Sweetie its okay, its a part of becoming a women. I remember I started my cycle with my father around your age, now that is embarrassing. The nasty thought really doesn't go away you just learn to accept it. Just realize that it only comes once a month. It will not ruin many of your daily activities. But all I can say is be patient and relax its a beautiful part of nature and maturity

Big Day for You! It does seem embarrassing but every girl goes through it and most boys/men/dads know about it. Just talk to your mom when she gets home and she will be a big help to you. Your school nurse can help you as well. It is a big deal but eventually you will grow into it. Most store workers are used to girls buying feminine products and everyone in line could probably care less. Just ask your mom to buy for you in the future and plan ahead.

Hey don't worry about it, it happens to every girl. I'm 13, and in April when I was 12, almost 13, I got mine. It was really embarrassing to tell my mom, but it was ok. Just be sure to let your mom know so she can help you. Also, if you get bad cramping, take advil or midol, that helps me. Oh, and about your brother, don't worry about it. I've told my girl friends of course, and I've told some of my guy friends, and they were fine about it. :)
