Denmark Street, near Tottenham Court Road station, has a lot of guitar shops and there is also Sound Control in teh basement of Virgin Megastores. You can get my 2 favourite brands in yellow; Fender Stratocaster and Gibson Les Paul. I'd say you're best off, if you're a beginner, getting a Fender because they're more versatile. Les Pauls have gorgeous pickups but they're really more than you need if you're a beginner.

You should be OK in Shaftsbury Avenue just off Piccadilly Circus. There's loads of music shops there. When you buy a guitar go for the best you can afford. Fender or Gibson, both of which do yellow models.

Shaftsbury Avenue used to be the place to buy guitars, I'm sure there must still be music shops there still. As for a yellow one, customise it yourself, spray it yellow. As for the make, well, what sort of music do you like ? Gibsons tend to be mellow, Bluesy, R&B. Fenders are more raunchy, Rocky. If it's your first guitar, try an acoustic first.

Try Denmark Street in London. It has loads of guitar shops. Personally I tend to favour Les Paul guitars - they sound nice both overdriven and clean, and are good all-rounders. As for what to look for, just try lots of different ones. A low action (distance between the strings and the fretboard) is generally a good thing, as it is easier to fret the notes. Good Luck!

Im not sure if they have them in your area, but look for a sam ash, or any music store, then GO THERE.
thats the easiest way to do it. plus, you have to take into account what you want in a guitar.
always look at:
price
pickups
neck width/length
fret types
hardware
and of course, the looks of it.
and shop around, dont buy the first one you see. if you really like it, put it on hold, and shop around.
