if you STILL care of course give him/her a gift... the fact that you're already thinking about it means that your friendship still means something... give her a giftcard to a coffeeshop.. and put in the card... "miss the times we had coffee" or something or a store gift card then say "cant wait to go shoe shopping with you" (of course if its a girl).. give him/her a good novel or a CD from his/her fave artist... you still know what your friend likes... so you should know what to give her deep in your mind and heart..good luck..

Why not? It's the thought that counts and obviously this person is on your mind, so if you want to give a gift without any hidden intentions then like the Nike slogan says "Just Do It." I think it will atleast be a starting point towards making things better. What ever you decide good luck and Merry X-mas.

Umm but what if it makes the other person(who may not have a gift for you).......feel un-easy?....
I hear you.........but what if, just say.
Maybe you could get one......that can (be taken back) later if you do not use it.
Heres what you do......get something, not too expensive....and, if that other person gives you! GREAT.You then go and get yours, to give.
Its better safe than sorry.....I have done this, and it just is way better for both of you...How you do this is say to your friend, I wanted to have you over to my place...for a drink or snack, for Christmas...That alone is a nice way to fix things better. Then! if that person brings you a gift.......you go get yours to that person.
Its a perfect way, not to upset things......Plus, it helps you both heal too.

The better way to say you care is to look into your friend's eyes and say "I'm sorry I disappointed you. I still care about you. Forgive me and let's be better friends again." Better than any old gift.

I think it would be a great gesture on your part. I've done something similar in the past, and it worked wonders.
