GEORGE KARL is most at fault for creating the situation for this to happen!!! if he has to run up the score to keep his players from relaxing at the end game when they are up and already dominated a team not so good then he needs to come up with something else. at the end of the game when the clock is ticking off the last few seconds and the outcome is already certain do you see the winning team go out of there way to add another basket? why not? it is considered unsportsman like to run up the score. karl kept his starters in with a little over a minute up by 19points? most coaches want to rest their starters because they play the brunt of minutes in an 82 plus game season AND give their bench time to improve and earn confidence.

the actual fight? collins for a foul he knows most players and perhaps he himself would react strongly about if on the receiving end. next robinson for stepping in as he did when no actual fight had occured yet, he actually brought too much energy to an already explosive situation. everything after that was the result of everything prior.

if i were coach at any level and i felt a team was running up the score in my own home especially i would challenge my players to not allow them to score again or so easily. under no circumstance would i instruct my players to hurt another, im not saying that!

oh and carmelo should not have reacted as he did at all, even IF he was warned to not go into the paint again! he should have waited until the next time the teams met and scored 50 on them! but this is a situation where emotions got the best ofeverybody involved from both coaches to all the players! proof that the nba policy on players getting techs for not controlling their actions or their emotions will not work- humans are emotional and competition brings out many emotions. it is that which makes sports exciting to play and watch. if we were strong enough to control emotions refs would not be needed and players would call their own fouls and live with it. stern thinks he is in charge of creating a video game!!! stern gets upset when this type of things happen! you think if he was watching it live as it happened he would just sit there without reacting with disapproval? you think if he had to react right there on the spot, hand out punishment for what was happening he would calmly say "he will be fined and of that guy deserves suspension"? cant really say or compare because the nature of competition and sports. i wonder if stern ever has REACTED with physical gestures when getting angry at something that has happened to him?!

sorry, this last part is on the unrelated topic of the leagues new rule that was implemented this year.

Carmelo did not start the fight. It was a no name player for the scum of the league New York Knicks. They are not even worthy to play Division 2 college basketball. They need to learn some defense if they dont want the score run up on them. That whole team and coaching staff needs to be sucker punched. Sorry If I have offended any New York Fans.

we should blame the coaches not players or anyone else Collins should not listen to that Knicks Coach because he''s a bad man JR Smith should of just left it because Collins probably could have gotten out of the game and suspended... Melo should never punched but the punch was better than you think it took Collins down but he run was to save his pride and respect most of all Knicks just tried to run Melo down because they can't punch!

That punk Carmello. Everything was starting to calm down and then he had to go and sucker punch another player. Then after he does that he starts running away like a frightened school girl.

I'd say Melo, he overreacted so much, it was hard for NY players to not yell back and start something, and look, he got the longest suspension!
