I filled for divorce 6 months ago and I haven't heard anything from the courts. How long do I have to wait to get my final decree?
How do I find out if something is wrong? The case is uncontested.

You have to file default paper work ... that lets the court know it's uncontested ... you just don't file & wait ... you also have to show proof that the other party was served ( either by mail or in person ) and file that paperwork too ... the clerks should be able to help you finish ... once the judge signs off on everything ... they'll mail you your final decree ... !

6 months and 1 day from the time you file the papers for it to be official. Sometimes a little longer. Mine took 8 months.

From the time both sign until the decree is granted, yup, it is six months.

it took my husband 9 months to get a divorce here in missouri. and oh by the way it was costly. sometimes i think the longer the lawyers can drag it out the more they make....could be true....could be false.... don't know.
