i am 40 weeks pregnant and i have done pretty well emotionally up untill now....half of my face is swollen and i cant smile cause only half of it works and i look so stupid...im always smiling so the fact that i cant has broken me down...i cant stop crying...i dont want anyone to see me!!! the doctor said my face will be like this untill i give birth...is there anything i can do to make the swelling go down so i can have my big smile back...please help

have you been to the doctor? I don't mean to alarm you but my friend experienced this recently and delivered early as a result. Fortunately you are already there but what she had developed was high blood pressure unknowingly. If you are still home please go to the hospital now!!!!

Sounds like the little baby is pressing on something like nerve..if that is the case, there isn't much you can do hun. Don't be down, think of the miracle you have inside of you and the joy you will feel when he/she is born. I am sure you are still very pretty. Hugs,

try ice...but swelling comes with pregnancy..pregnant with # 4 19 weeks good luck with everything!

Ice always works. Maybe you can take some advil or some medication without codine in it, so it won't harm the baby.

try putting a cold towel on your face and some cucumbers on your eyes. if that doesn't work put a spoon in the freezer and then stick it on your face. i promise it works...
