It isn't. You also have the Newton, Ampere, Volt, Ohm, Watt, Joule, ant Pascal, to name a few.

as others have stated, there are many other units named after people...

ALSO... all cool people who work with or use the metric system call it "centigrade"...

also also Celsius called the boiling point 0 and the freezing point 100 which is just goofy... that's why future scientists switched it around...
