I've had this area rug/carpet for a few years. It still looks great, but it has fold marks, and I always have to pull it to even it out, I believe it is caused by the coffee table. Is there a way to undo this?

What the problem is, is that either the backing on the rug is bent or the rug is made of very strong durable material. Either way, using a little hand held steamer will do the trick. It might take a little while, but it does work. Be sure to protect whatever is behind it, no matter what process you decide to use! If it is small enough, you can take it outside and pour very hot water on the folds. However, hot water shrinks the material. So, you will need to have it pulled tight and secured. Using an iron with a wet cloth atop it is a good idea, too. Give that a go first. If it doesn't work, go with the steamer.
Good Luck!

Try using a carpet cleaner with very hot water. When it dries it might pull the fibers back into place.

Use a carpet steam machine, then after it's dry put double stick tape on each corner and stick it to the floor.

You could try glueing thin rubber gripper strips to the edges and see if they stay. If that doesn't help, you'd have to tack it down all around.
