What are the main differences between InDesign and PageMaker (and what are PM's failures)?

Ive never used page maker, but InDesign is usually considered the most efficient and easiest to use.
Most of the design industry still uses Quarx xpress, but some are shifting to InDesign for the ease and price.
I think PageMaker is more like a word/powerpoint program with simple business aspects and templates, where InDesign is usually the choice for publication Designers and graphic designers
