I had my hamster on the couch and then I went to the kitchen when I came back my moms friend was sitting where my hamster was but when she got up he wasn't there. She left in a hurry, should I put posters of my missing hamster around the neighborhood?

Yeah, do that. I think it would be worth the effort. You could get one of those mouse traps that just hold the little guy inside and not hurt them.
You should ask the lady who left if she knows anything about the whole thing.
