Recently my pc has started turning off on its own but not completely turning off just the monitor. When i try and play games (the warhammer 40k trilogy) or sometimes just browse the internet my pc screen goes black and says NO INPUT SIGNAL and then POWER SAVING and the monitor will not come back on but the tower is still on, it is humming and the power light is on. The tower does not feel hot and i think the fan is working fine/

This is most likely due to some hardware failure... a common reason for such hardware failures is overheating of Memory modules/battery/processor on your pc - especially if you are using a notebook pc - be careful with the ventilation if you do not want a permanent failure. Use a chill mat for the notebook.

However, since you get the message 'No Input Signal', it looks like you are using a desktop pc in such a case - possibility is a loose cable.

your computer could have a virus or even though ur monitor seems fine it could be slowly starting to go.
My moms pc had a virus and the monitor wouldnt turn on, it would just show a orange light, she took it in and got her pc fixed and after that the monitor worked fine.
If u think it is ur monitor then try connecting a different computer to ur monitor if u have the same problem then u know for sure its the monitor, if u dont have any problems then u know its ur pc.

check the connection from the computer to the monitor. maybe the cable is loose. that is what it sounds like.

It could be dust built up around the fan and heatsink. If you are bold enough you could pop open the side of the case and suck it out with a little suckvac. becareful to ground yourself to discharge any static.

Sounds like the issue is with the cable interface or the monitor itself, not the tower.

It's either monitor overheat or loose cable. Check both.
