I can see a space, so do you mean,

3b-5
2b=5?

Well, since 2b equals 5, then 5 equals 2b.

Then, can't you substitute all 5's with 2b?

3b-2b=1b
=b

The answer to which you were looking for is b

Hi I think this equation assumes the rule of "No signs means times"

3b - 5 2b = 5
b (3 - (5x2)) = 5
b(3 - 10) = 5
b x (-7) = 5
therefore:
b = 5/-7

hope this helps!

If 2b=5 then b=2.5

I can't tell what you mean for sure.

Is that 3b - 52b = 5?

Then -49b = 5, and -49/-49b = 5/-49 and b = -5/49.

If not, please clarify.
