its possible your switch could have an auxillary fuse hidden somewhere under the dash. Try removing the switch to see if the plug is correctly fitted to the back of the switch. what with not light coming on and the window not heating up at all the plug may have came away from the switch if you have been messing with say a radio installation and have been yanking wiring about..

the small low wattage capless bulbs they have in the swiches can last years or just a few days, so try to bypass the switch and join the feeds together off the back of the switch. On the back of the car if it is a hatchback, which im assuming a 106 normally is, chack the spring loaded connectors when the boot closes for voltage. These are normally two or three small spring loaded pins on boot itself and flat copper plates in a plastic housing in the car so they touch when the boot closes. Also check or try to find out how the bootlid is eathed to the rest of the body.....Is it earthed through the pins or through the body through the hinge pins which the boot pivots on. on certain cars the wiper and heater become intermittent so it is sometimes advisable to drift the pins in and out to remove rust and dirt to make a good contact between the two surfaces. sorry to waffle on, hope this helps

Check all the heater circuit: dashboard button, relay, fuse, then check if in the rear the current is reaching the heater, and finally check the heating wires on the glass. Beware of hard cleaning of the rear windshield from inside: it can ruin the thin heating wires.
