What did you do to get help?
Describe your situation.

My gas warning light was on and off so I wasn't sure if I had enough gas but then it stay on and I made a dash for the nearest gas station but I had to stop for a traffic light on a busy street on the way but was lucky enough that I made to a gas station pump when the gas ran out about a half mile down the street.

I am one lucky guy because the odds of your car running out of gas at the pump is probably small.

Why doesn't the warning light come on if your car has a gallon left instead it comes on with a half or a third of a gallon left?

Next time I planned to sign up with some auto club like AAA so I can get roadside assistance because if I called a tow company I never used before they would probably charged me a huge fee to deliver gas.

Rather than letting your tank get that low (which is bad for an electric fuel pump anyway) why don't you plan ahead and fill the tank when you have about 1/4 tank left?

that happened to me in a car i used to own.. sometimes the gauges on your vehicle over time exaggerate about the amount of gas in your car so your car might show that it still has gas but in reality it doesn't have as much as it shows..
