Human beings are both. I think equally divided.

Man is given the gift of reason. Everyone can make a choice with every event or decision that comes up probably hundreds of times a day. Do you listen to the good (the conscience)? or do you make a decision to satisfy a desire. The proverbial arguments guy on your left and right shoulder if you ever watch the comedian Carlos Mencina.

For some, desires become all consuming, power, wealth, possessions sex, (scoring). etc. Many use their power of reason to rationalize or justify there actions. However many listen to that voice inside and can't do evil things. Most of us are both.

Also I think some are just born with no conscience. Psychology calls them psychopaths. There are also those born as saints and can do no evil.

Wars are fought over good and evil but all sides think they are right. Some use religion as their justification. Some evil is also committed in the name of social justice such as communism and the Nazis. People can convince themselves of anything.

In the teenage years peer acceptance tends to cloud decisions and can form your personality for the rest of your life.

Hope this is clear as is tough to explain.

I truly beleive that to have good, one also has to have evil and some people are just born to be one way or another despite all efforts to change them. I dont think most of them are Hitler or Stalin type evil, but then most of us arent Martin Luther King good either. It's a continuum with most of the people hanging out just to one side or the other of the the line between good and evil. The farther you get from the line in either direction, the fewer people there are. However, both sides are equal in number. It looks like a bell curve. That's my opinion anyway.

Good and evil are nothing but illusions for someone to prove their own case, and making themselves sound right. There is no good, and there is no evil. There are only point of views.

In the third party's eye, killing someone would seem evil, would it not? Though, why you would kill someone is a different story. What if the person who was killed.. had robbed a bank? Strangled a child? There is no definite good or evil, just how you see things. Do not label anything as good, or as evil. Christian see God as good, and Satan as evil. Satanists, of course, believe the complete opposite. Look at both sides:

(I am Athiest, and this is just an example, because everything is about belief, and the most common example of belief is religion)

God is the 'most powerful deity', is he not? Satan, or Lucifer, wanted his power. Though Lucifer's intentions were unknown. What if he wanted to make the world better? God is supposed to be forgiving, and he cast him to Hell, to never be released, and to suffer for all eternity. Does God sound so good, now?

That is why people take both sides, and argue so much about religion. We have no idea what happened, so we label Satanists as evil, so we make ourselves sound right. I take no side personally, but this is how things work.

Evil is a term attributed to behavior, inherently all humans are capable of great good or great evil. Evil is made of bad choices and bad behaviors.

Evil is a judgement about a person's behavior. Hitler, Stalin, Hussein, Pol Pot, did great amounts of evil, but still had the capacity to interact with people until their paranoia ranaway from them.

first of all--->everyone is different- even from birth.
only 2 things can possible effect someone after then - environment (experiences, light exposure etc.)
- and diet
experiences are the main cause of a persons personality.. for example if u are forced to watch your parents die (as many child soldiers are) then you are more likely to be brutal and savage yourself

lack of sunlight, water, sleep or anything else people need also may make people seem bad tempered or "evil" but these things are temporary

in myself i notice mood swings and a low feeling if i eat "junk food." it makes me snap at my brother for no reason at all.

i don't believe there are evil or good people. everyone is a little both. Although if you could define evil as someone without a conscience ie. dont care about consequences for others thats a whole differnet discussion.

An Human being is really not good or evil because they don't know anything. In the moment, their just being that just want to learn things,to grow,to speak,to walk, and to do other things to experinse life.

It is just perception in most cases; americans think Osama is evil, but his followers think he is good.

We see a child molester as evil, the molester thinks he is good.
