a hog wash is when you clean the hog pins with a water hose and some of the water splashes back on your lips and you get to taste it.
Ask any farm kid from Iowa or Nebraska they'll tell you what a hog wash is.

The literal meaning is the water in a pig pen that they roll around in. The slang term is akin to" you are full of ----, " or what someone just said is less than the truth or they are obviously wrong.
As far as white wash, it's used in a literal since to paint fences or barns, kind of a watered down version of white paint. But is also used as a term for a cover-up(to hide from others) of a criminal act or a similar situation.

hog wash is an old saying of farmers, pig farmers to be exaxt.
the pigs piss in the mudd and **** there too and the farmer cleans up the hog wash whrn hes cleaning out the pig pens.
