Not only is the glass half empty, there is a very tiny leak in it and we are all going to die of thirst.
Well, some people don't like a negative attitude that's for sure. How about "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night."? (grin)

Yeah so everyone always wants to think they are some positive being. I used to be the same way when that question popped up. "Half Full of course" But then I thought about it, and in reality, I saw the emptiness. Does that mean I'm a pessimist? Maybe. But I truly think that if people took the time to actually process the analogy, they would realize they see it as "half empty".

This is a metaphorical way of defining how people envisage the state of their lives. Pessimists will say that the glass is half empty; and optimists will say that the glass is half full. I prefer to be an optimist. The mind is very powerful, and psychology is an excellent tool to aid our better outlook on life. Psychology can be adapted and incorporated in every part of our lives. It is used in the work place, in schools, the police have implemented it into their ethos; and parents use it to help their children, and so on.

Another example of the discontinuous thinking that is endemic to social science. Why the dichotomy? The glass need not be either half full or half empty. It can just be a half glass of water. Think in a continuous manner.

the glass is both half full and half empty in a sense and also full but not empty. Cuz any space one see is occupied, either something visible or invisible, we all know that even air occupies space. So if the watr is poured half way, I can also say that the jar is half way full of but but it is full. I can also say that the glass is half way empty since presence of air is neglected here.

I think that if you are pouring something into a glass and stop half way it is half full but if you start drinking a full glass and stop half way then its half empty.

It will be half empty, you have had the best part and there will only be less than you want left. You reach a point when there is less time ahead of you than behind you - all you hae is memories and nothing to look forward too.
