My father in law saying "wow, that is sure going to be a big baby" & "how much bigger are you gonna get?" (now 36.2 weeks). I used to awknowledge the comment with a fake smile, but now I don't even awknowledge that he said anything. I completely ignore him-I give him no reaction or response. Unfortunatley, he still says it. SO ANNOYING!!!

Weird but Im usually pretty high strung when Im not pregnant (not with my kids but other people usually annoy me) but when Im pregnant, nothing bothers me. My family tells me I should be pregnant all the time. The thing that did annoy me was when I was in labor with my second. I asked my step mom and sister to be the delivery room. They sat by the bed just talking having their little converstation and not tending to me like they were there to do. I was no annoyed at them but after the baby was born I was glad they were there.

Read Ina May's guide to childbirth...or rather read it to THEM. You can have your baby without an epidural. I did it and I'm very proud. However, your not wonder woman if you deliver without an epidural and your not a failure if you get one.
I'm a Doula and our mantra is "it's not my birth, it's not my birth, damn it, it's not my birth. Try telling your in-laws that.

Anyway, the most annoying thing that happened to me was everyone wanting to rub my belly. God, I hated that.

My house dogs really started annoying me after I got pregnant, haha, the slurping/licking water and smacking on dog food makes me sick to my stomach. I cant be in the same room with them when they are eating or drinking. I hope it goes away after I have the baby! I also am EXTREMELY tired of everyones advise and stories!

Well thats a tough one, there is so much that people do to drive me crazy!! My worst one is probably everyone in my family saying..."well ya better get used to it" everytime my sis in law comes over with my baby nephew, shes like, here change him! and they all start with the "well ya better get used to it" I let them know not to do that anymore...! its drove me nuts! its like..."oooh really I had no idea I was going to have to change diapers!" lol it was annoying. Thanks for asking I feel better getting that off my chest!

When I was pregnant with my son my mother-in-law asked me if I planned on breast feeding. #1 I didn't think it was any of her business, but I have a severe iron deficiency as it is and my doc had already advised me that it wasn't going to be an option. Anyway I simply told her no, I wasn't.

She looked at me with eyes like the devil and said "Well....I guess you just don't want to bond with your baby"

I almost ripped her head off.

Needless to say, my son is 4 now and attached to me like glue. I don't think we encountered a bonding problem at all!! LOL

Hey there!
I was really bothered by inlaws...particularly on my side of the family that were so against breastfeeding my child. No matter what statistics I threw their way, they were against it.
Also...all the unsolicited advice. I wanted to say, "Hey, People, every pregnancy is different....just because it worked for you, doesn't mean it will work for me!" I received all sorts of advice...from excercising, to nutrition, breastfeeding, weight gain, etc. I appreciate constructive advice and some of it I needed, but it was to the point of nagging.

Does your husband know how you feel? Ifso let hem break the news to your in-laws. Just tell them you appriciate their thoughtfullness, but your mom is coming and you dont' want to get overwhelmed. They can babysit in the future. If this is their first grand child then they are more then likely going to want to be right there. I know how frustrating it can be, but you'll appriciate the help asyou loose more and more sleep. If they are going to be involved, then make sure they kow your rotine and they stick with it.

Good luck and congratulations
