hey im in a english secondry school and looking for ideas for musicals to perform. My teacher has asked all the people in the drama club to come up with ideas so far ive got:
Chicago,
Grease,
and Little shop of horrors.
I need some help the 6th forms are doing rocky horror so thats off the list :'(
it can be as big or small as you like and suitable for 13-16 year olds

Well, if you are allowed to do Rocky Horror, than you can probably do RENT. There aren't too many parts in it though, but it is a fantastic musical that I've always been interested seeing as a school production. The set isn't complicated at all and gives quite a few good challanges acting wise. The characters are very well built and veyr emotional, it is a very good choice for working on advanced character development. The musical also has a very brilliant message to it that is worth hearing, especially for a younger demographic.

Chicago will probably be too risque for secondary school because of its adult content. Plus, there is intricate dancing involved, and that might be too complicated. However, West Side Story would be good. I watched a show with kids doing that musical from ages 12-15. You could probably do High School Musical, but it may not be available yet. It wouldn't hurt to check it out. GOOD LUCK!

Hey I love LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. in fourth grade i sung that song. I love grease too. I've never heard of Chicago before. Could you pick another one? Does it have to be that exact same ones?
