Sod what anybody else thinks. If you are content/happy, then thats fine, don't worry about what other people think. If anything, sounds like the only thing getting you down a bit is people hassling you, so just ignore them and get on with what you want to do.

As long as you are happy then thats all that matters. I think your parents do understand to an extent, however it is a 'norm' for people to interact with one another, so I think they probably wish for you to go along with social norms, It's understandable. However people shouldn't conform to certain norms if it does not make them comfortable or happy, there is no point in doing something if it makes you unhappy.
I only enjoy my own company but to a certain extent, I get too bored on my own to keep that up though. I really admire the fact that you are comfortable enough in your own company. I feel that perhaps you are more stable/secure than most people, because you don't feel the need to rely on people for company.
I think your choice is fine if you are happy, it is acceptable. I hope others will understand your choice as well.
Take care, all the best.

Well, i don't know anyone with your extreme desire to be alone. But my dad lives alone, and he said he wouldn't have it any other way. He divorced my mom like 20 years ago because she was a cheater, and hasn't lived with anyone since, not even a fish. He still likes when we visit for his birthday, christmas, thanksgiving and things. But he really enjoys just living in his home by himself. But He still gets people trying to find him a girlfriend, and he is 53. I don't think most people are open minded enough to accept it, and i think you will deal with people like that all your life (probably why you prefer to be alone). I guess just keep explaining it to your parents, or just ignore them when they bring it up.

I'm female and happily married, but I can relate to that. You are happy with your own company and there is nothing wrong with that. I too enjoy my own company. My children (grown up) do not understand that I like doing things on my own and being on my own. I do not think you are anti-social, you just enjoy your own company and do not feel lonely.

I wonder whether you have interests that don't involve people - do you hike, swim lengths, read, collect something, fix cars, cooking.........
If your parents see you actively doing stuff that interests you then they shouldn't worry.
But if you just spend your time looking at the television, well, maybe they have a point?
