Considering that...

...you don't need any business savvy, knowledge, experience, or education to join.

...you are never asked to examine your market other than to accept one liners about the global market demand

...your primary sales are to yourself and your close family and friends

...your whole network buys more product that they sell

...the whole basis is set up so that no individual should ever have to do enough sales to support themselves

...you need to be enticed emotionally to do the business by being show all the things you can buy like cards, vacations, homes, etc. (aka, people enter on hype, not on financial assessments).

*** Laura J *** - Statements such as AT&T and Gillette are MLM companies are so blatantly misguided its a wonder anyone has the gall to even suggest it!

The fact that MLM was deemed "legal" means what exactly? Selling lemonade on my front lawn is legal too! Whoop-d-doo. Besides, I made no comment in regards to the legality of MLM. The fact that you asserted such a claim is merely stawman argument style. Typical MLM banter.

Where are these thousands living their dreams? Why is there never nay evidence of the countless so called MLMers living richly. Its a shame and the few who get rich off of recruiting countless others who do little amounts of sales should live in shame.

The industry is indeed happening providing further evidence that a sucker is born every minute.

Sounds to me like your hip to the game and know enough to stay out of it. I can see getting taken once. But what I find funny are the people that do it over and over for years and fail every time.
Illustrating the point that ignorance is treatable and stupidity is not.

I can't speak to the business model itself but I can attest that MLM on average sure attracts the least entrepreneurial of people.

There are probably some decent business people that get steered off course and overrun with the excitement of signing up massive amounts of people and making it rich, but the majority of people in MLM really just don't understand basic business concepts and don't even know the right questions to be asking.

If MLM at its most basic level is sales, that alone is somewhat entrepreneurial. Its when the idea of signing people up to make money gets mixed into MLM that it goes to the toilet.

It is true that most people in MLM are their best customers and even if they sell lots to their family and friends, I gotta say I have never known a successful business person who was able to do well just selling primarily to themselves and immediate family.

I should point out though that you don't need any business knowledge, experience or education to start any business though.

the statements your are entering are false about a 120 billion dollar business world wide that reputable corporations like GTE, ATT&T, Gillette, Sprint, and many many more coporations who use Network Marketing. These established corporations as well as companies lasting 10 to 20 year Fortune 500 companies sell their goods and services without any advertising costs because "word of mouth" is the fastest form of distribution.

Network Marketing is a legitamate business proven in our highest courst and the IRS recognizes it as a home business.

Where are you getting these cut and paste segments from? What web site that bashes an industry that is growing right under your nose with thousands of people who are living their dreams?

This industry is happening without your negative propaganda. If I didn't have Network Marketing, I couldn't pay for my children's braces... Thank God for Network Marketing.
