In reading Ecclesiastes 10:2-3 it says,

2."The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left.
3.Even as he walks along the road, the fool lacks sense and shows everyone how stupid he is."

I find this passage interesting because I've often wonder why the Libs like calling themselves the left and the Cons, the right.

Any bad mouthing and name callin would fall under the category of a fool as spoken in the good book wether you be on the left or the right.

It has no modern political bent, but it is interpreted so by different parties in different ways for political gain.

I once heard a preacher say "Christ is basically the founder of the Republican Party." Not true. He never would have accepted anything with a capitalistic platform.

This is a good question and the way you ask it makes you seem genuine.

The Bible says many things. And many of those things have been used to make arguments all over the idiological spectrum.

One of the most important things to note in the Bible is Jesus's love for peace and understanding. Also, Jesus seemed to hate the establishment and the abuse of power.

He said "the weak shall inherit the earth".

I think it's important for the evangelicals to remember that Jesus preferred poverty and told the wealthy to sell their goods to help the poor. Also, Jesus is the first and best example in the bible of why the death penalty doesn't work. They tacked him up on the cross and he became the most powerful religious symbol for the next 2000 years.

Technically, the Bible can be considered anti-Roman Empire, especially in The Book of Revelations. If you are refering to an American politic view, that is utterly impossible.

I believe the main points of the bible are:

If you aren't on God's side, you are against God.
Obey God's law or you will burn in hell.

The passage refers to the right hand and the left hand. Traditionally the right hand of god is the preferred side, where the left is deemed one step lower.

It is from the French Revolution, when liberals sat on the left and conservatives on the right.

I would rather read a good novel, send e mail jokes and fish than discus the Bible.
