Ours is so low budget and plain uncool, whereas theirs is all cool and theres like women in bikinis and stuff... or whatever... and have you seen the audience... it's like 11 old people as miserable as ever... look like they're waiting for the bus...

i think its because the uk version was intended (i suppose) to be an afternoon programme (although its obviously become more popular than anything else on around that time) whereas the US version is primetime so it has to be more flash to get the far bigger ratings...
However, the $1 million as top prize isn't much different to the UK version when taken into account the exchnge rate is currently $1.97/£1 and in the US they also have to pay tax on winnings...
i like both though... i especially like the randomness of the us version where they say "your daughter likes horses- if you deal this horse will be yours" and a horse is brought onto the set... it's just weird...

The american one is uncool cos of how it tries too much to be flashy. There's no point in wasting money to make a game show look good.

America's greatest invention was BS! they just have to take everything Britain makes good and transform it into some glittery star spangled media circus. money isn't everything, and basic is often best. i love looking at bikini clad girlie's as much as the next perv, but there has to be a limit!

Having watched plenty of both of them, I much prefer our British version. It's so much more about the people than the American one (which is just about cash). The US version is just too over-glitzed. I mean, bikini babes with briefcases? Come on...
