Nine Days- Good Friend. My best friend died the summer after our junior year of high school, and this was the song our school dedicated to her.
I'm sorry for your loss, but remember that it will get better. It is good to take some time to mourn, but don't let it get you too down. Remember that your friend would want you to go on with your life and be happy.
I don't know you, but I do know that it gets easier. I still think about my friend, and I hopefully always will. But it doesn't take over my life, and I find myself smiling when I think about her rather than crying.
Good luck and God Bless. (hope that doesn't offend you).

First and foremost, I am sorry for your loss. Especially at this time of year, it is hard enough sometimes to make things alright, then a death of a good friend is very tough.
I have used for myself:
"Freshman" The Verve
"Love without End, Amen" George Strait
"Helena" My Chemical Romance
"I'll See You On The Other Side" Ozzy Osbourne
"If Tommorow Never Comes" Garth Brooks
Those are some I have used. You will find your own solalce in the words of a song at some point. Hold onto the good times, and let the music guide you to happiness. Happy Holidays, and again, sorry for your loss.

WHO YOU'D BE TODAY BY KENNY CHESNEY.
PERFECT SONG ESPECIALLY IF IT WAS A VERY YOUNG PERSON. I AM SOOO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. IT HURTS SO MUCH TO LOSE SOMEONE YOU LOVE.. MAY GOD BE WITH YOU IN THIS TIME.
HERE ARE THE LYRICS:
Who You'd Be Today
(Bill Luther/Aimee Mayo)
Sunny days seem to hurt the most.
I wear the pain like a heavy coat.
I feel you everywhere I go.
I see your smile, I see your face,
I hear you laughin' in the rain.
I still can't believe you're gone.
It ain't fair: you died too young,
Like the story that had just begun,
But death tore the pages all away.
God knows how I miss you,
All the hell I've been through,
Just knowin' no-one could take your place.
An' sometimes I wonde
Would you see the world? Would you chase your dreams?
Settle down with a family,
I wonder what would you name your babies?
Some days the sky's so blue,
I feel like I can talk to you,
An' I know it might sound drazy.
It ain't fair: you died too young,
Like the story that had just begun,
But death tore the pages all away.
God knows how I miss you,
All the hell I've been through,
Just knowin' no-one could take your place.
An' sometimes I wonder,
Who you'd be today?
Today, today, today.
Today, today, today.
Sunny days seem to hurt the most.
I wear the pain like a heavy coat.
The only thing that gives me hope,
Is I know I'll see you again some day.
Some day, some day, some day.

Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler
My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion
I'll Be Missing You - Puff daddy
Carry On My wayward Son - Kansas
Requiem - Eliza Gilkyson
and perhaps the best of all...
Candle In the Wind - Elton John
I tried to include several different genres so you will have a better chance of finding one or two you like.
May peace and fond memories fill you.

Those are the only songs that I could suggest that actually capture the feeling of losing someone, especially Like You and Hello. They were written by the lead singer, Amy Lee. They are about a sister she lost when she was younger.
I can send you the mp3s if you wish.

the only sad song i can think of off the top of my head is Strange Fruit by Billy Holiday, makes me cry everytime, has to do with the horror of the pre-Civil Rights South. Try thinking of songs that you and your friend used to listen to together, am sure that will do it!

One song that I know about is called "Angel", it's written by Amanda Perez. Another song is Beenie Sigel "Feel it in the Air". I really felt these songs when my friend passed away!
