I want to go into a career in marine biology, but mostly because I want to work with dolphins. Is there a field just for working with dolphins, or what?

Colleges usually offer some sort of marine biology course, if not a degree opportunity. After you get your degree you can specialize in whatever animal you want to work with. You can usually do work experience while you are getting your degree, in which you can work with dolphins

This is not a direct answer for your question. Rather it a boost for an excellent school: Univ of Texas at Galveston. The marine biology and oceanography schools are very well respected, students are right on the Gulf of Mexico, it's a great party town and full of Texas history. Give 'em a look up.
