Slavery questions.?

i am doing a report and i was wondering could anybody direct me to a site, or just tell me the number of slaves that existed in the american colonies by the early 1800's/late-mid 1700's???????

In the late 1700's to early 1800's, 400,000 people were brought to the United States to be sold as slaves. By 1860, that number had jumped to 4,000,000 people.
