She wants to read them becuz she too loves Panic! and Palahniuks books inspired many a p!atd song, but they are located in my library's adult fiction section, so my mom asked me to look into them. If not all of them, any specific ones that would be appropriate?

No. I wouldn't give your sister one of those books. Choke is full of sex. Fight Club is violent. Haunted has some HORRIBLE things that I wish I could erase from my mind. Survivor is pretty adult as well (some porn stuff). Invisible Monsters is very interesting, but still a little too adult. Diary is also inappropriate (some graphic sex). Lullaby isn't for kids, either.

His books are excellent and he's one of my favorite authors, but I wouldn't get them for a 12 year old girl. For one thing, a lot of his ideas would probably be lost on a 12 year old (unless she's...pretty experienced). A second thing, his stuff is meant to make you think, but I don't think a younger person should read it and think about it.

You might want to read one of them to check it out, but I wouldn't let your sister read them. Although, come to think of it, his book Stranger than Fiction is probably his least-adult book. But she may not like that one. And, come to think of it again, there are some pretty adult things in that book, so never mind.

Tell her to wait until she's older.

They're located in your library's adult fiction section because there is quite a bit of adult content to most of his literature. Havin read most of his work, I can tell you first hand that books by Chuck Palahniuk would most definately be inappropriate for a minor. There are themes and scenarios that are inappropriate for even...me. Try reading Haunted, at least the "swimming pool" story, which isn't very long and base your opinion on that. Personally, I would never give a 12 year old that type of literature, but that's just me.
