Eventually they will get a few more, but right now, id say no. They have talent and veteren experience with players like Sundin, Battaglia, Tucker, McCabe, & Kaberle, but they will be eliminated in either the first or second round this year by a younger team with great talent and speed. The Leafs are good hockey team, dont get me wrong, but once the younger players start to have a bigger impact on the game, they will get a Cup. Big names wont last for the Leafs, Sundin would be lucky to have a few more good years. They will win a championship, but not until at least 2010, 2011.

As much as it pains me, I think the Leafs are going to surprise a lot of people this year. I believe the combination of 5 years of ineptitude and general Leafs hatred have blinded many people to the fact that their management has an actual vision for the team and are slowly putting all the right pieces into place. They might squeak into the playoffs this year - and if they keep doing what they are doing, they'll be a serious contender again inside 3-4 seasons. Could they win the cup? Well, The Red Sox broke the curse of the Bambino and the Blackhawks ended an almost 50 year drought, so anything is possible

Well, we can all kiss the dynasty years good-bye, regardless of which team you root for. With parity and way too many teams, your odds are pretty slim. With the lineup they have right now, the Maple Leafs don't have a chance. That said, I like some of the young guys. Who knows what will happen in three to five years? But the fact is that you do not know what your team will look like NEXT year, let alone in three, five, or twenty. Essentially, your question is impossible to answer.

Not anytime soon. In the new NHL, you'll NEVER win the Cup win goons who doesn't skate! The Maple Leafs need to change from A to Z with young talented players instead of signing veterans all the time and I agree that they need Pogge in the net pronto!

Paul Maurice has already changed the mentality of this team and it's been very beneficial. The best thing the Leafs could do right now is fire John Ferguson jr. They need to start making trades for young star players (like trading Mats Sundin). I don't see them winning the cup until 2012 at the earliest.
