I can't get my proud father to go to the doctor. He had a stroke last year and has been having health problems ever since. I've tried to talk to him about it. He says he'll go, but he never does. He's a very proud and macho guy and I can't make him go.

That's the way my dad is !
My dad's diabetic and he will not take care of himself by eating properly.
My brothers offer to take him to the doctor and such but refuses to go.We even offer to pay for the medical bills.
There's not much you can do, just be there when he needs you !
I know how you feel !

No, easily no longer. so a techniques as human beings can see it, that's in easy terms a fashion for the government to push away the expenses of looking after elderly human beings back to the already at a loss for words voters. In a time the place Singapore is now no longer a easy place to stay and paintings now no longer the 60s-90s, the place the factors of residing now's so very intense, the place wages are small for the frequent guy or woman, the place opposition for jobs and guidance is so very stiff and the place even doing a agency is given to intense financial threat and not so worthwhile, and jobs so puzzling to get and puzzling to do, civil provider jobs all decide for paper honors, foreign places opposition, i'm able to bypass on and on. the government needs to take careful measures to look into fixing those form of unintended outcomes via fact by using forcing it on the individuals could in easy terms create greater complications to come back via fact that there are a techniques too many factors to evaluate if the government could dictate that path on the individuals- take for eg, the youngster's financial challenge- unemployed/low salaried/family members and so on.., did the mum and dad help the youngster, are they on stable words or estranged, the question of despite if the youngsters opt to or no longer, different than despite if or no longer they are able to or no longer able to financially speaking via their very circle of relatives members commitments and liabilities, and people who're elderly and without babies, how could people who could have the money for to yet do no longer opt to sense, and so on... speaking as somebody from a social technological information history , i think that such a regulation is not sensible and could create greater resentment between the individuals in direction of the government now that existence in Singapore is such a conflict for many of. situations have replaced a great deal and with a greater stable existence now in Singapore, the government must be added information in direction of the desires and problems of the conventional Singaporean.

Unfortunately, if you aren't appointed as his guardian there isn't much you can do. He may be getting old, but he's still his own man and can make his own decisions.

I go through the same thing with my father. He never goes to the doctor even though he really needs to. You can make the suggestion but if he doesn't want to listen, you just have to accept that.

I'm sorry. :o(

Perhaps calling a doctor for help, and arranging for hospice nurse to visit him at home may ease the challenge of him visiting a doctor.

Unless he is in danger, there is nothing you can do. If he needs 911 treatment, they can make him go. But if not an emergency....there is nothing. Sit down and talk to your parents. They need to know how this upsets you.

If you have a child, ask the child to to ask you dad to go to the doctor..

If you do not have a child, tell him that you want him to be around for your future child and for that he needs to stay healthy.
