Now are we talking the actual programs or the actors from those programs? I'll give both. King of sitcoms (the best ones always seem to be English) is Blackadder, not the 1st series but the other 3, absolutly brilliant!! And as for the actor it would have to be David Jason, he's been in so many great sitcoms over the years. A note to finish on, the sitcoms these days are NOTHING comparied to the older generation.

Bill Cosby

Jerry Seinfeld

Lucille Ball (The QUEEN)

That's the Royal Court. TV Comedy would be different if the 4 of them didn't do what they did. You pick the king.. LOL

I agree with the Sarge about Archie Bunker. In today's politically correct times, there's no way another All In the Family could happen, because of the blunt racial stereotypes that were brought out. But I think Archie, portrayed as a narrow-minded bigot, made more people examine their own views and change their ways of looking at others who weren't like them. They saw Archie as maybe a slightly amplified version of themselves and it got them into some soul searching..

Those episodes with Sammy Davis, Jr. were priceless.

Ronnie Barker has to be in the voting somewhere.........Porridge, Open All Hours....and he launched David Jason's career by having him in both those series.
