haha..all the crazy mad scientists in training have nothing to live for. (and I am one so I can joke about it) In all seriousness though, If you want, have a look at the following articles:

Some articles say yes, others say no, I guess you'll have to make your own decision.

It is an urban legend.

The following article shows that the suicide rate at MIT is actually slightly lower than the average.

I thought that was NYU. But ppl in MIT are geniuses, so u get alot of really troubled messed up to-samrt-for-mankind people, so it might make sense. But it's a very big school, so proportionally the number of suicides might not be that huge.
