I would like to hear from those who saw the movie that did or did not read the book. I liked the book. I thought the movie was pretty lame. I read the book and still the movie was hard to follow. Anyone else?

I too am a Tom Hanks fan, and thought his performance was mediocre at best. One book/movie combo I thought was great was The Green Mile. Now that was agood Tom Hanks movie, and an awesome book.

It has nothing to do with agree or disagree with the theme.
I enjoyed the book more than the movie, the movie would be hard to follow if you didn't pay attention.

Totally agree. I was so excited when I heard the movie was coming out, I even saw it before it was played in the movies here in the US (piracy of course), and I didnt like it. I even went to the movies when it was finally played to see if my perception could be better on the wide screen, but nothing, I just hated it.
The book was very good (it was all a bunch of lies in my opinion because I dont believe in the main plot), but it was a good and enjoyable thriller.
i dont know what happened to Ron Howard, it was a disaster, the person who has not read the book and see the movie will be left in blank, with no idea of what the hell happened there.
Even Tom Hanks was so lame. I'm really disappointed.

Yes I totally agree. I read the book then saw the movie and did not like the movie much at all. I found they missed some inportant issue in the book and added things in the movie that were not important. But I also feel they scraped on great movie making just to jump on the Da Vinci Code bandwagon, which resulted in a poor movie.

I think the only people that can truely enjoy the movie are those who have not read the book.

I watched the movie but have still to read the book!!! Glad to know the book is better though- most books are way better than the movies. Just think of Harry Potter for example. Books are great- movies are lame. I still watch them though because they're still Harry Potter. But anyhow- I didn't mind the DaVinci code movie. I actually liked it a lot. Maybe that's because I didn't read the book so I couldn't be disappointed. I'm definitely reading it this summer though- when time becomes available to me again :-)

I think that all Tom Hanks films are great! You cant beat an actor like Tom Hanks for playing any role hes given! I thought his performance in 'Road To Perdition' was amazing, despite what everyone says! Oh and yes i liked The DaVinci Code!

I read The Da Vinci Code twice, once right before the movie came out, and when I went to see the movie, I was so upset that they messed it up. They changed the ending to it, and I couldn't believe that they took such a popular book and ruined it! I would most certainly recommend the book, and never the movie, any day!

i read the book and saw the movie and yeah the movie was way lame, i hated the special effects where they shot the cargo truck and the bullets go all over and it looks so fake, i was a bit bummed out, i personally think it would have been better with out tom hanks and had they come with some unkinown folks,
thats my 2 cents

My husband read the book and saw the movie. He said the book was better and the movie cut alot of the story out. I only saw the movie and thought it was awesome and easy to understand.

I read the book and saw the movie. They made a lot of changes in the movie, some of which weakened the story line.
