be able to get here from the parking lot where everyone else parks too? In today’s world it incorrect to teat them any different than anyone else in every other aspect of life. They have pushed for these laws and wanting to be treated equal. Well, why do they get these special parking places? I could see having parking spaces up front for older people. They have lived long enough to earn a little consideration. Anyone else feel this way?

Some stores are starting to move the handicapped parking a way back..but still not too far. They consider that a courtesy...and not all handicapped people are in wheelchairs you know. Some have heart problems or leg conditions and can't walk for long distances...hence why they're given prefential treatment. Yes, the elderly should get close parking (and if they request the HC tags from their doctors' they'd probably get them) as should pregnant women (some malls in my area do this already). But you have to draw the line somewhere!

I agree that elderly people should be able to park closer to the store. Just because they aren't officially handicapped doesn't mean it is easy for them to get around. I don't have a prob with the handicapped spaces either because I don't see anything wrong with cutting handicapped people some slack.

However I HATE when someone gets mad at me for using the handicapped stall in the restroom. Just because you are handicapped DOES NOT mean you don't have to wait in line like everyone else. The only reason that all the stalls aren't handicapped accessible is because the stores dont want to pay for the extra materials!

simply because if he or she parked their car in the parking lot that is not wheelchair friendly, they would not have the room to get the wheelchair out of the car or get back in again if they did manage to get out
