The worst part about the holiday is being alone, even if you may not have family near by, it's always a good idea to spend it with close friends. You should not think about the worst but think about the good. Just enjoy the holiday and make the best of it, it's almost the new year, so make memorable memories this year.

I agree on the 14 hour flight!!! I travel almost every year from Italy to San Diego, California. It sure sucks to have divorced parents who live half way across the world and to have to get on a plane and spend only 2 weeks out of the year with your family for Christmas.

Having to make sure you at least send a card to everyone that is expecting one from you. It's not that I can't stand sending a little holiday greeting to my family and loved ones, but people who I barely know complain to me about not sending them a card and accuse me of forgetting about them
Also, if you're having family problems, it's a real bummer. Everyone else is having fun with their famalies and you're just trying to get through the holidays without them depressing the heck out of you.
The holidays can be the worst time of the year sometimes.

The worse part(s) I would have to say is all the commercial greed and how Christmas/Holidays have moved towards commerce instead of being with one another during a joyous time. The other part of it is, if you have no family during the holidays, that's the saddest thing *sigh*.

I think it is having to deal with the part of the family that you hardly know. There are people in my family that only show up to get gifts once a year.

14 hours, yikes! I listen to books on tape/CD for long trips.
As for the long lines, I shop early, the last week in October or first week in November. I have also taken to ordering items on the Internet.
If the person does not like what I bought them, they can return it for something to their tastes. It is the thought that counts.
Happy Holidays!

the worst is not being with the one you really love. and the sad part is they and miss you the same. and now you got new people in your life and you can't be mean to the new person. because the old person was bad news but that the one you really love. and the new one is good to you. so as a person you have to be with the one that is good to you or your life will be bad. And that's the worst for me.

For me is that we keep telling these children lies about a big fat man in a beard and a red uniform is coming down the chimney to bring them everything they wish for from their Christmas list. It is total bullsh!t! And then when they grow up and find out that all of that crap is a lie, they wind up being disappointed!

The worst part of holiday is when you get a gift that you already have,or when you don't get the gift you want.

Holiday's are a permanent "blah" for me.
Christmas Eve is my parents wedding anniversary (Father deceased).
Jan 2 is my Brother's birthday (also deceased).
Travel hassles just come with the territory, count your blessings.
