well once again, I see a stupid answer in there. Someone said that a tampon doesn't go that far up...
... well it doesn't have to. The hymen is on the outside of the body lol. A tampon can tear the hymen but it doesn't always tear it. Yeah and read the instructions, that is what they are there for.

HYMEN IS A THIN LAYER OF SKIN
AND ITS VERY THIN OR CAN BE VERY THICK!!!!
BE CAREFUL GET THE SMALLEST TAMP0ON THAT YOU CAN FIND AT FIRST IF YOU HAVE NEVER HAD SEX AND ONLY USE 1 AT A TIME
NEVER AT FIRST KEEP IT ON LONGER THAN 3 TO 4 HOURS BECAUSE YOUR HOLE IS SMALL AND THE TAMPON WILL GET VERY FAT FROM THE BLOOD THAT IT IS COLLECTING AND I WANT YOU TL BE ABLE TO PULL IT OUT SMOOTHLY
SO CHECK AND MAKE SURE THAT THE TAMPON DOSENT FEEL HEAVY. IF ITS STARTS TO FEEL LIKE THAT TAKE IT OUT VERY VERY SL;OWELY
GOODLUCK OKAY
AND ALWAYS READ THE BOX SO YOU WILL KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GTTING INTO

A hymen is a membrane that is broken after sex. a tampon doesnt go that far up.
Read the pamplet that comes with the tampons, it explains better than i could. start out with the smallest size and the least absorption rate

I would read the directions on the box. I have to admit it sounds very strange that someone in this day and age wouldn't know where to put a tampon. Ask your mother, sister or a female teacher you trust to explain it to you.

Do not fret, and it's great you are asking questions. Here is a site that will answer your questions. You will never regret using tampons, especially after wearing pads. Good luck!

if you buy tampons, you'll find an instruction sheet with illustration and details.
btw, hymen is a fold of mucous membrane which surrounds or partially covers the external vaginal opening..
