is the movie eragon good??

If you like mind reading dragons, then it is good for you.

I went to see it today but I can't tell you if it's good or not without describing it to you and spoiling it for you.
If you really want to know what it's about, email me and I'll tell you. I don't want to write what it is about here in case some people don't want the movie to be spoiled.

I can tell you on a scale from 1-10, I'd give it a nine.

if you like a movie that completely steals its ideas from star wars, anne mccaffery's dragonriders of pern, and lord of the rings and mixes them together with a big helping of cinematic cliches... this is something you need to see. it is pure MST3K fodder. i was just sad that there were so many people in the theater because i wanted to keep a running commentary to my friend of all the ripoffs and stupidity that were transpiring on screen. the scene where luke, um eragon i mean, goes home to find his uncle dead and then burn the body. the scene where luke, um eragon, has a vision and goes off to save the princess and puts himself in danger instead of going where yoda, um.. that old dragonrider guy, wants him to... if you want a good movie, skip it. if you want to see a movie that's so bad that it's funny, watch eragon.

I hate to be cynical, but I have to agree with pre92lude. It was full of cliches, and the girl had no character development. It didn't help that I didn't like the book all that much, I guess...

But the dragon was COOL. I'll give it that much.

if you are looking for a movie that follows a book, then it isn't any good. BUT, as a movie, it was very entertaining.
