For percents just convert to decimal and then multiply the number.
10% = .10 * 2,800
235%= 2.35 * 2,800
With 10 percent you just need to drop the ones
2,800 take away the 0 and you get 280
you can do this with 1 percent and you drop the ones and tens 28
with 20 percent you can drop the ones and then double it 280+280
You can also divide common fractions and decimals and divide
1% = .01 = 1/100 penny
5% = .05 = 1/20 nickel
10% = .10 = 1/10 dime
20% = .20 = 1/5
25% = .25 = 1/4 quarter
33% = .33 = 1/3
50% = .50 = 1/2
