I like to make gell candles for each person. Real simple, looks nice and you can even color and/or sent the candle. Nice thing is you can personalize each candle. Put a small trinket inside the jar before you pour the wax...for example put a toy firetruck in it for the firefighter in your life, ect. Another good one is use cookie cutters into Christmas Tree ornaments.

If you have a printer/scanner and a second hand store close this is what you do.....
1) Find photo that is of you and person doing something you both remember, it works too if you have a group photo(family/work party, trip, event.
2) Scan photo and blow it up to 8x10 or 5x7 ( you may have to reduce it once/if you use matting in frame.
3) Go to seconhand store and find a nice frame(with matting preferably) Salvation army, Goodwill are a couple in our area.
4) Place photo in frame
5) Print up small banner for "title" of picture (date and place is easiest)
6)Center and glue "title" on matting
7)Wrap and give as gift.

I am doing a craft that involves drawing. If you like dogs, then take everyone's personality and match them with a dog's personality. Like, My grandfather used to be a commercial Fisherman. So, I made him a black lab with a fishermans hat... Or my sister is a girly-girl, and a ballerina, so I made her a pink poodle with a tu-tu. I hope this helps because it is very cheap. All you need to buy is paper, or a sketch-book, and some thing to color. I hope this helps, Merry Early Christmas.

...R U skilled with wood? Make small tool tote and clear finish it , or paint it? Make a cool open ended vertical box for TV , and/or stereo remotes? Get some bare naked wood products at your local wood furniture store and apply finish / or paint them yourself. Have fun and oh ( put down some newspaper ).
