I live in Michigan, and the charge is Controlled Substance-Delivery/Manufacture Marijuana.... I will be off probation by Febuary!

The answer here is no. Recently there has been some dialog concerning the ultimate fairness of this law. Lifetime prohibition from the right to vote does seem to extend the punishment well past the point wherein which an individual has ostensibly "paid his debt to society".

Considering the rather paltry percentage of eligible voters who exercise this right as it is,( @less than 60% in General elections and considerably less in other ballots) prohibiting felons who have served their required sentence seems to be prejudicial and counterproductive. We need everyone to not only be eligible, but to be consistent and responsible participants in the electoral process.

Depends on the state. In most states, no you cannot vote unless you receive a pardon from the Governor.

False, Depends on the state and the felony! What you can't do is vote while incarcerated!

It depends on the state. A lot of states you automatically get your rights restored upon completion of your sentence, and other states you need to ask to have them restored.

*Edit*
In MI, your right to vote is restored upon completion of your sentence, but you will need to register to vote.

...No. A convicted felon may not hold a professional license either. I.E. ........Real Estate License, Attorney, Contractor, and so on. You will have to get educated about your new lease on life and be very business savvyy - creative. Because many employers may not make room for you.

If I'm not mistaken, you cannot vote and you can never own a firearm.
