Because a lot of people are shallow, brainless, clones that judge people by they way the look.

I don't know what kind of people your hanging out, how you dress but I can wear something that is not too expensive and people I know think it was expensive, and they don't treat me like a crap.

I’ve found that people simply put to much Stock into what they see, what meets their eyes. I remember when I used to be real thin I looked almost sick looking all the time. People wouldn’t really talk to me or give me any real attention unless they were a member of my house hold. Then I started eating right & exercising and all of a sudden people began noticing me. Not just a notice but actually wanted me around because I was slightly in my opinion to them. Strangers would strike up conversations & listen to me speak. It’s kind of a let down when it becomes obvious that people tend to judge a lot by what they see & not necessarily by what they understand.

Because some people are superficial and would rather judge others on their social class instead of their character. Those kind of people usually end up alone anyways. Also if someone doesn't want to be my friend or treats me bad because of the way I dress they aren't the kind of person I would waste my time on anyways.

Actually people don't treat me like crap and I don't wear expensive looking clothing.
People treat you more by how you act and speak than by what you are wearing.

Because a good many people think if you don't wear that kind of clothing then you are not important enough. I know this is sad, but its true. Its ridiculous how our society looks at monetary value more than somebody's personality.

Sigh, I totally understand how u feel. Ok, I wear this black t-shirt (my fav t-shirt)a couple times, and people ask me "eww, why do u like ALWAYS wear that" and I'm thinking, uhhh, excuse me, but I wear this shirt like 1 time every week... i mean, I get SOOO frusturated when people judge another person by clothes they wear. And then there are some people that go like "OMg, that guy wears those pants like EVERYDAY" and im just like thinking "Uhh, its pants. Pants are meant to keep u warm and cover ure body. Does it matter beyond that?"

Because most idiots belive that you must show the ecomic power that you have and by doing that you must have something expensive. This is a complete utterly "stupid" belief that the media set up for ppl.

Part of it is the way you present yourself. If you stand up straight, look people in the eye, speak clearly and with authority, people will treat you with respect. It's all about the attitude, girl!
