The short answer to your question is, we still have war because we still feed ourselves by farming. The most direct cause for the development of war, is that we plant and grow our own food --- farming lead to war. Let me explain further.

Organized warfare did not exist prior to the development of agriculture. Prior to farming, there was nothing permanent in a given area worth fighting for. When a stronger tribe entered the area, instead of fighting, the weaker side just moved somewhere else. Plenty of other places to hunt and gather food.

Then around 8,000 BC, people started domesticating grains. Farming provided a more effective and reliable source of food, over the older hunting and gathering from region to region way of life. With their food supply more stable, the population exploded. The planting and harvesting of grains for food was a great benefit.

However, this meant that a tribe needed to stay in a given region, at least until they were able to harvest their food supply. If they were forced to abandon their crops, it could mean starvation. Their population had grown too large to be supported only by hunting and gathering.

That farming food supply became an appealing target for stronger tribes, who could just take the fruit of someone else's labor. The danger that a stronger tribe might take their crops forced people to develop ways to defend their land. They built walled cities on top of hills and organized defenses. They invented new and better weapons, and developed military tactics in order to protect their lands and their way of life.

Eventually the various cities in a given region banded together to form the first nations, and much later the first kingdoms. It's instinctive for people to band together and form cultural bonds in order to promote their common defense.

As long as our survival is based on holding a specific area of land, there will always be a need to defend that land. Our modern resource needs include more than just food. Oil supplies are another example of something we can't just pick up and move. Today humans need to stay on their land. And as long as someone else wants to take that land away, their will always be a need for war.

Before you ask this question, you should ask why there are still TYRANTS and DICTATORS who threaten their neighbors, violate basic human rights, engage in genocide, etc.

You think after 5000 years, we would move onto something better?

Umm, we have something better. It is called better war. Mankind has worked hard to find marvelous new ways to anihilate each other.

Some people only want death and destruction. They will not listen to reason. They will come and kill and maim and destroy. As long as you have people like that there will always be war.

some countries are not advanced enough to understand such thing and only react to brute force.

As long as there are people in the world that wish to kill us for not believing in their religion or politics, there will always be war.

people will always find a reason to fight. it is human nature and it is also a territorial thing. people just will never be able to get along because of differences and people being too stubborn to accept others for who they are and what their beliefs are.
