I don't know who would laugh you out of the party. Nude toe stockings are always fine with open shoes, and anyone with bare legs at a dressy party should be thrown into the haystack. In the real workd, dressy occasions require hosiery, especially in winter time, even if it isn't cold where you live.
The real world is not the Hollywood tacky world where everybdy walks around with bare legs and bare feet on carpeted walks. Anybody with a real job would realize that. In the corperate world, stockings and heels are as much a requirement for women as socks and dress shoes are for men.

Eeeks, I would suggest NO don't wear nude color stocking with open toe shoes.... if your dead set on wearing hose, then try to find some cute closed toe shoes that will go with the outfit, or maybe find a pair of panty hose with no feet, so they stop at your ankles, like leggings, that is becoming really popular right now... but my honest opinion, its always very sexy and classy to show some leggs. I wouldn't do it.
I would consider using that spray on pantyhose stuff by Sally Hansen or making sure your legs have a nice tan.
Stockings with open toes regardless of if the toe is seamless or not really throws the whole look off. Because open toed shoes mean just that...open toes!

As long as they are sandal foot stockings I see no reason why not. However nude is an extremely light shade I think that tan might be better.

Why don't you just buy the hose that have a hole where the toes go, so you can have the look of wearing hose, but nice looking toes!
