What should I do?

I understand the date mix up people. No need to repeat that the month and day are switched around another 50 times.

GOT IT.

First thing is make clear which dates you mean. Everywhere outside USA 1/2/07 means first of February, so it is safest to spell the month when emailing hotels in UK and in fact anywhere.

Second, take a bus tour of the capital, listen to the guide and decide whatyou want to see more of. Then get a travel card and use the busses and tube to see them.

lastly, have a great time.

Londoner meet on Trafalgar Square for the new year ( and freeze ..)

Otherweise, you might take an audio guide instead of the Tourist Bus (cheaper and more flexible). The one from the source is free and covers
1 Kensington Palace 2 Hyde Park 3 Buckingham Palace 4 Downing Street 10 5 Westminster Abbey 6 Houses of Parliament and Big Ben 7 London Eye/Millennium Wheel 8 Piccadilly Circus 9 British Museum 10 National Gallery 11 Regent's Park 12 Trafalgar Square 13 Saint Paul's Cathedral 14 Tower Bridge 15 Tower of London

As was said over here we say 24/12/06 to 2/1/07 the day comes before the month not the other way round.
There are lots of things to do museums, shopping, alsorts, so come have a great time what ever you do.

Hi

There's a Londion guide here from the tourist people http://www.enjoyengland.com/where/destinations/london/dg.aspx

with links to accommodation etc too and maps.

Personally, if it's your first time I recommend:

Take the combined bus and boat tour - you must sail from Westminster/The London Eye out to Greenwhich for a true appreciation of the sites. http://www.londonducktours.co.uk/

Go to Greenwhich and see the view across London (go on the London Eye, too) and of course do the obvious sites listed on the above link.

For restaurants etc, I recommend: http://www.timeout.com/london/
