We recently had a terrible wind storm and shut off power everywhere. I ran out of gas and someone loaned me gasoline, I poured it into my tank, come to find out it was mixed with oil. I have since filled my tank with premium gas and a product to boost the engine. What else can I do or is this normal?

Just keep driving it until it is time to refill.

You might have to change or at least clean the spark plugs because of the oil fouling them.

Bama Don't worry about draining the tank, the oil is in the whole system already.
I would take the advice of a looonnnggg trip and get all that fuel out of the system.
Put some injector cleaner in when you have 1/4 tank left. This will concentrate the cleaning of the injectors. Then when she is about to pass out from no gas fill 'er up with regular. Hi octane or premium does the injectors no good. you need detergent to clean the injectors and the fuel lines. Get a supply of injector cleaner and run it in the tank for the next 5 or 6 tanks. this will do a world of good to clean out the oil.
The oil that is there won't hurt a thing. It may smell funny but that will go away.

I do that every fall. I just dump all my gas cans into the car. I've never had a problem doing this. Just be sure to fill the tank after you do it. Consider that the average fuel/oil mix is 20 : 1 and your diluting that mix a further 15-20 times. Your car won't even notice the difference. And running your car for a few miles on straight 20: 1 mix won't harm anything either. I would not recommend doing it for extended drives. I drove a car for 10 miles once on gas line antifreeze. Of course it was a carbureted car. I don't think it would have worked with fuel injection or not.

Sorry to hear about your difficulties! You have been given good advice here. I am assuming the gas/oil mix used two cycle oil - like you might use for chain saw. One other consideration is that the oil in the gasoline may have fouled or plugged the O2 sensors and the catalytic converter(s). So if after several tanks of gas, if the engine still runs badly, the engine light illuminates and the mileage is terrible, you may have to have it professionally diagnosed. The advice recommending a long trip is an especially good idea. This may burn off the oil wherever it may be. Best of luck!

Don't add any other products to the tank. Just drive it till it's almost empty and refill. Changing the gas filter might help too. And premium gas is just wasting your money if the engine doesn't require the octane.

You could drain or siphon the tank, or even try some type of octane booster. If you don't want to drain or siphon the tank, then fill it up and get on the interstate and take a small trip, where it'll use all of the bad gas. Best of luck to you.

the best thing for you to do is,drain the tank and get some good gas.like the other person said,it will smoke till the oil gets burned out.

it'll smoke till the oil is gone. Best thing is to flush the tank out (has to be dropped out from under the vehicle), but I'd just run this tank about gone and refill it.
