St. Ann was the mother of Mary, the Mother of Jesus. She lived in a village close to Nazereth. Very little is said of her, her husband was a man named Joachim. They were Essene Jews so they probably did not share a house with each other. Her sister was the mother of John the Baptist. She probably led a very quiet life of baking, mending, and cleaning.

I'm not sure how to find info on that but I wouldn't suggest wikipedia, they've actually made this whole announcement about how all their info isn't completely accurate. Try other encyclopedias like Encarta.msn.com
