When I saw my midwife I had a pap test unexpected..yuck! She felt around my stomach and pushed on the uterus...something that will happen throughout your pregnancy and even after labor. I gave a urine sample and there after at every appointment. She listened for a heart beat which was so exciting. The office didn't do bloodwork or ultrasounds. That I did at another facility and then my midwife would receive the results. She did alot of discussion about food that I should be eating, thingsI might be experiencing, how much water you should be drinking (a gallon a day!) I was given the prescription for vitafol (which you might already have since your at two months) At every appointment they check your weight and blood pressure. You should go with a list of questions that you might have. I also was given literature and a package at every visit with coupons and magazines.

They will probably check your blood pressure and do a urine test (they do this at every visit). Might check your weight. If you haven't had a pap test in the last 2 years they might do one of those, too. She probably won't do any other examinations this early. You'll be able to ask any questions you might have. good luck!

She should seem kind, caring, genuine, concerned. She will probably give you a gynecological exam and palpatate the uterus. You'll answer a lot of health questions and fill out questionnaires about your health history as well as the father's. Have Fun and Congrats!

Usually you will have a pap smear, breast exam, questions about your last period, family history. And there will be plenty of time for you to ask any questions that you have. Congratulations!
