I like to put ribbons around box gifts. Start by Placing the ribbon on the top part of the box horizontally (do not cut yet). Then wrap it all the way around to the bottom. Where the ribbons meet intertwine them once, then you should wrap around the box vertically till the ribbon meets again at the top. There, you tie it into a bow. You can also just tie a knot and make a separate bow and glue it on top (not as pretty though). The ribbon doesn't have to meet in the center for rectangular boxes I like to make it off center, it looks nicer. I also make my own gift tags to tie around the bows. For odd shaped gifts you can either find a box of put them in a cylinder container. Wrap enough tissue around it to make it appear soft to touch. Then wrap some of that translucent colored wraping paper around it and tie the ends to give it that "Candy" look. Hope this helped!

Sunday comics make good wrapping paper. Add something heavy like a brick. Put a gift certificate in a roll of toilet paper and wrap it up. Put only a note in the gift telling them to look in the corner of the back yard for the real gift.

Sometimes it's fun to use something related to the gift...if it is a small kitchen gadget/appliance you might consider wrapping the gift in a tea towel....

You might consider using plain brown paper and mark neat designs on it...

You might use a basket or a really nice decorative metal tin (they are inexpensive and always useful)...

Just look around and you might find yourself inspired by the unexpected...

Well, if you have a good amount of time on your hands, cover it in just plain, white paper, not lined, and draw/paint a design/large picture on it. You can personalize it as much as you want, and if you make it easy to unwrap without tearing, it coudl be part of the gift as they could keep the picture fi they liked it...

There can be many creative ways to wrap a present but I wonder whether there is any gentler way to unwrap a present?
