any B&Q store has mouse poison in the gardening section. But why kill them they also sell humane traps to catch them without harming them.
then you can set them free further away from your house but don't tell anyone as I am sure it is classed as releasing vermin and that is illegal in uk.

It is possible the cat may have actually brought the big mousie in through the cat flap to play with. There are several types of traps that can be used that do not involve poison. Glue traps are fairly effective for this purpose. My family successfully caught a mouse using a glue trap, and they are safe for use around young children - though messy if the child gets his hands on it, but nothing some soap and water won't take care of. If kitty gets a paw in the glue trap (generally will end up dragging the trap around) you can carefully pull it out and no harm done. You can also try one of those ultrasonic noise pest repellent electronic devices or else a type of trap that closes the rat into a box when it enters. Some of these box type traps are also known as humane no kill traps since they will actually trap the mouse inside an enclosure without killing it. Others are electric mouse traps that zap the mouse once it is inside. If you use an electric mouse trap, take similar precautions that you would with a manual mouse trap: keep it out of childrens reach, and use it only where the kid would not get into it (like a locked area).

D-Con is a common mouse and rat poison here in the US. You can find it at most grocery stores, hardware stores, farm supply stores, etc.

Be warned tho, if you poison a mouse, instead of trapping it... it may die inside your walls.... leaving a foul smell for awhile. Sticky traps work quite well, but there are other types available, from the age old 'snap trap' to the more modern versions, for example.

Ive found that peanut butter is an effective bait.

Good Luck

Supermarket, B&Q, local mouse poison shop but the best thing for getting rid of mice are pieces of Stilton cheese...apparently they hate the smell as mice liking cheese is a myth. Just lay a few chunks around where they are coming from and they will soon disappear...but so will your friends. Is that a too bigger price too pay??

If you have to kill them, please use the snap traps rather than poison. Poison is quite cruel and lets them linger unnecessarily. With a snap trap, they're dead in a matter of seconds.

Not to mention the fact that mouse eats poison, other animals (pet cats etc.) eat dead mouse and ingest poison etc, etc. Besides, why don't you want to purchase online? What are you hiding?

Do not use poison. Get a cat! It will get rid of your mice just by its smell even if it does not catch them.
